Powertex, passionately in love ~ Jinny Holt~
What can I say, February is the month for love. I don’t do Valentines but I do love to create and I absolutely LOVE creating with Powertex! I’d even go so far to say I’m kinda obsessed with creating, especially with Powertex involved. It is also fair to say I find being creative a form of therapy. So for this blog, I am going to show you some of my favourite creations and give you a brief description of how I achieved them because I LOVE creating.
I have always been creative from a child and this has never left me, I am lucky enough to create in my full-time job as a Support worker as I am also their creative coordinator, which means sometimes I get to create and try and pass on my passion of creating to the young adults I work with.

The above creation was made using the newest kit from POWERTEX UK and I loved doing this. I did not stick to my usual pallet which is normally quite dark, so this is a refreshing change for me.
How I created my Art Doll
I used some Easy 3D Flex to create a background with lace and some netting, I dripped Powertex Acrylic paints and pigments down the back panel and used some bister to spray. Then assembled the piece together and added the extra bits to the frame. Next I applied some Stone art to the wings, to give them depth and coloured with the Gold pigment. Then I used some easy 3D to create a paste to go over the wording stencil on the heart. Dry brushed the whole piece with tonal colours and gold. You may have seen this piece on Hochanda.
I really could talk about how much I love to Powertex all day, every day!!
This piece above was an old rusty frying pan that I was going to throw out until I had that “light bulb” moment and thought “Ooh I can Powerex it” so I did. I used some of the STOCKINETTE and an old t-shirt and some crochet material with Bronze Powertex, added some embellishments as a focal point and dry brushed with gold, greens and blues. This piece now resides at my Daughters home as she fell in Love with it.
So another reason for me to LOVE Powertex, you can Powertex anything really, so recycling and upcycling all the way.
See you can use anything, pegs in this piece, to adorn a cheap birdhouse, I hope the photos are self-explanatory!
I think I shall leave this article here for now. I really Love working with Powertex! Did you catch my last article find it here. See you next time Jinny.
