It’s time to “Bee Creative” for this month’s Powertex UK prize challenge. The theme this month is buzzing so get busy and inspired with these Bee projects from Powertex tutors.
Whether you want to create a bee sculpture or use the Bee mould or MDF shapes in a mixed media art or sculpt your own from fabric or Stone Art clay, there’s lots of possibilities for your supplies. Include at least one bee to enter your project. Hexagons, flowers, leaves and natural textures will all work brilliantly, just add your favourite colours in pigments, paints or Bister for a really organic finish.
‘Busy bees bumbled all around
The twisted ivy covered ground
Honeycomb oozes with golden treasure
Sounds of buzzing is pure pleasure’Claire Ivins
The limited edition March Secret Art Box also has a bee theme and a few boxes are still available but bee quick!
To enter your project, post your photo into the March photo album at The Powertex Studio on Facebook. One lucky UK winner will receive a prize and the entries will be featured here in the online magazine and on our social media pages.
Read more about the terms of the challenge here in the magazine or take a look at last month’s amazing entries. Congratulations to Jenny Shepherd for her brilliantly detailed mixed media Steampunk art in February.
Bee Creative and good luck!
